NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Kunitz-type serine proteinase inhibitor family. The protein can inhibit a variety of serine proteases including factor VIIa/tissue factor, factor Xa, plasmin, trypsin, chymotryspin and plasma kallikrein. This gene has been identified as a tumor suppressor gene in several types of cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Uniprot Description

TFPI2: May play a role in the regulation of plasmin-mediated matrix remodeling. Inhibits trypsin, plasmin, factor VIIa/tissue factor and weakly factor Xa. Has no effect on thrombin.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q22

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; nucleus; proteinaceous extracellular matrix

Molecular Function: extracellular matrix structural constituent

Product Notes

The TFPI2 tfpi2 (Catalog #AAA2541439) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TFPI2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TFPI2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFPI2 tfpi2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TFPI2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
