Related Product Information for anti-TFIIE antibody
In eukaryotic systems, initiation of transcription from protein-coding genes is a complex process requiring RNA polymerase II and broad families of auxiliary transcription factors. Such factors can be divided into two major functional classes: the basal factors that are required for transcription of all Pol II genes, including TFIIA, TFIIB, TFIID, TFIIE, TFIIF and TFIIH; and sequencespecific factors that regulate gene expression. The basal transcription factors and Pol II form a specific multiprotein complex near the transcriptional start site by interacting with core promotor elements such as the TATA box generally located 25-30 base pairs upstream of the transcription start site. Human TFIIE consists of two subunits of 56 kDa and 34 kDa molecular weight, respectively. The structure of TFIIE appears to be a heterotetramer(alpha2 beta2) both subunits being required for optimal basal-level transcription.

NCBI Description

The general transcription factor IIE (TFIIE) is part of the RNA polymerase II transcription initiation complex, recruiting TFIIH and being essential for promoter clearance by RNA polymerase II. TFIIE is a heterodimer (and sometimes heterotetramer) of alpha and beta subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents the beta subunit of TFIIE. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]

Uniprot Description

GTF2E2: Recruits TFIIH to the initiation complex and stimulates the RNA polymerase II C-terminal domain kinase and DNA-dependent ATPase activities of TFIIH. Both TFIIH and TFIIE are required for promoter clearance by RNA polymerase. Belongs to the TFIIE beta subunit family.

Protein type: DNA-binding

Product Notes

The TFIIE gtf2e2 (Catalog #AAA3006269) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TFIIE-beta Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TFIIE-beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFIIE gtf2e2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TFIIE-beta, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
