Related Product Information for anti-TDRD7 antibody
TDRD7, also known as Tudor domain containing protein 7, is a component of chromatoid bodies in spermatids (named processing bodies or P-bodies in somatic cells). It is found in a mRNP complex together with TDRD1, TDRD6 and DDX4. It is also found in a complex with CABLES1, PCTK2 and PIWIL1. TDRD7 has been shown to interact with histone H3 tri-methylated at K9 in vitro.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a component of cytoplasmic RNA granules which are involved in determining the fate of mRNAs. Mutation in this gene has been associated with pediatric cataracts. Mutation of the similar gene in mice has been associated with cataracts, glaucoma and a block in spermatogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

TDRD7: Component of specific cytoplasmic RNA granules involved in post-transcriptional regulation of specific genes: probably acts by binding to specific mRNAs and regulating their translation. Required for lens transparency during lens development, by regulating translation of genes such as CRYBB3 and HSPB1 in the developing lens. Also required during spermatogenesis. Defects in TDRD7 are the cause of cataract congenital autosomal recessive type 4 (CATC4). An opacification of the crystalline lens of the eye becoming evident at birth. It frequently results in visual impairment or blindness. Opacities vary in morphology, are often confined to a portion of the lens, and may be static or progressive. In general, the more posteriorly located and dense an opacity, the greater the impact on visual function. Belongs to the TDRD7 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q22.33

Cellular Component: mitochondrial matrix; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: mRNA binding; protein binding; protein N-terminus binding

Biological Process: lens morphogenesis in camera-type eye; spermatogenesis; germ cell development

Disease: Cataract 36

Product Notes

The TDRD7 tdrd7 (Catalog #AAA6010857) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TDRD7, CT (TDRD7, PCTAIRE2BP, Tudor domain-containing protein 7, PCTAIRE2-binding protein, Tudor repeat associator with PCTAIRE 2) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TDRD7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100 Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TDRD7 tdrd7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TDRD7, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
