Related Product Information for anti-TAS2R3 antibody
This gene encodes a member of a family of candidate taste receptors that are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily and that are specifically expressed by taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelia. These apparently intronless taste receptor genes encode a 7-transmembrane receptor protein, functioning as a bitter taste receptor. This gene is clustered with another 3 candidate taste receptor genes in chromosome 7 and is genetically linked to loci that influence bitter perception.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of candidate taste receptors that are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily and that are specifically expressed by taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelia. These apparently intronless taste receptor genes encode a 7-transmembrane receptor protein, functioning as a bitter taste receptor. This gene is clustered with another 3 candidate taste receptor genes in chromosome 7 and is genetically linked to loci that influence bitter perception. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Gustducin-coupled receptor implicated in the perception of bitter compounds in the oral cavity and the gastrointestinal tract. Signals through PLCB2 and the calcium-regulated cation channel TRPM5. Ref.1 Ref.7

Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

Tissue specificity: Expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelium and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. Expressed in the antrum and fundus (part of the stomach), duodenum and in gastric endocrine cells. Ref.1

Miscellaneous: Several bitter taste receptors are expressed in a single taste receptor cell.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor T2R family.

Sequence caution: The sequence AAU21157.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.

Product Notes

The TAS2R3 tas2r3 (Catalog #AAA6353698) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TAS2R3, CT (TAS2R3, Taste receptor type 2 member 3) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TAS2R3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TAS2R3 tas2r3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TAS2R3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
