Related Product Information for anti-TALDO1 antibody
Transaldolase 1 is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway providing ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and NADPH for lipid biosynthesis. This pathway can also maintain glutathione at a reduced state and thus protect sulfhydryl groups and cellular integrity from oxygen radicals. The functional gene of transaldolase 1 is located on chromosome 11 and a pseudogene is identified on chromosome 1 but there are conflicting map locations. The second and third exon of this gene were developed by insertion of a retrotransposable element. This gene is thought to be involved in multiple sclerosis.

Uniprot Description

TALDO1: Transaldolase is important for the balance of metabolites in the pentose-phosphate pathway. Defects in TALDO1 are the cause of transaldolase 1 deficiency (TALDO1 deficiency). It results in telangiectases of the skin, hepatosplenomegaly, and enlarged clitoris. Belongs to the transaldolase family. Type 1 subfamily.

Protein type: EC 2.2.1.2; Carbohydrate Metabolism - pentose phosphate pathway; Transferase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5-p15.4

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: transaldolase activity

Biological Process: pentose-phosphate shunt; carbohydrate metabolic process; energy reserve metabolic process; pathogenesis; xylulose biosynthetic process

Disease: Transaldolase Deficiency

Product Notes

The TALDO1 taldo1 (Catalog #AAA9408104) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TALDO1 antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TALDO1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). Western blotting: 1:500 - 1:2000 Immunofluorescence: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TALDO1 taldo1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TALDO1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
