Related Product Information for anti-STC1 antibody
Stanniocalcin-1 (STC1) is a paracrine factor associated with inflammation and carcinogenesis. STC1 is a secreted glycoprotein hormone and involved in various types of human malignancies. Stanniocalcin-1 (STC1), which has myriad functions, including the maintenance of calcium homeostasis, the promotion of early wound healing, uncoupling respiration (aerobic glycolysis), reepithelialization in damaged tissues, the inhibition of vascular leakage, and the regulation of macrophage functions to keep epithelial and endothelial homeostasis, which may adequately cover the myriad therapeutic targets of IPF. STC1 signals through inhibitory G-protein modulates CGRP receptor spatial localization during osteoblastogenesis and may function as a regulatory factor interacting with calcitonin peptide members during bone formation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a secreted, homodimeric glycoprotein that is expressed in a wide variety of tissues and may have autocrine or paracrine functions. The gene contains a 5' UTR rich in CAG trinucleotide repeats. The encoded protein contains 11 conserved cysteine residues and is phosphorylated by protein kinase C exclusively on its serine residues. The protein may play a role in the regulation of renal and intestinal calcium and phosphate transport, cell metabolism, or cellular calcium/phosphate homeostasis. Overexpression of human stanniocalcin 1 in mice produces high serum phosphate levels, dwarfism, and increased metabolic rate. This gene has altered expression in hepatocellular, ovarian, and breast cancers. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The STC1 stc1 (Catalog #AAA8107576) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-STC1 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's STC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000 IHC-P: 1:100-1:400 ICC/IF: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STC1 stc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
