Store product at 4 degree C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable at -20 degree C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

NCBI Description

Spire proteins, such as SPIRE1, are highly conserved between species. They belong to the family of Wiskott-Aldrich homology region-2 (WH2) proteins, which are involved in actin organization (Kerkhoff et al., 2001 [PubMed 11747823]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

SPIRE1: Acts as a actin nucleation factor, remains associated with the slow-growing pointed end of the new filament. Involved in vesicle transport processes providing a novel link between actin organization and intracellular transport. Belongs to the spire family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 18p11.21

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; cytoplasmic vesicle membrane; cytoskeleton; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cell cortex; cleavage furrow

Molecular Function: actin binding

Biological Process: vesicle-mediated transport; establishment of meiotic spindle localization; protein transport; intracellular transport; polar body extrusion after meiotic divisions; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; Golgi vesicle transport; actin nucleation

Product Notes

The SPIRE1 spire1 (Catalog #AAA6350611) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SPIRE1, CT (SPIRE1, KIAA1135, SPIR1, Protein spire homolog 1) (Azide free) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SPIRE1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPIRE1 spire1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SPIRE1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
