This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against SPIB. It was validated on Western Blot using a cell lysate as a positive control.

Target Description: SPI1 (MIM 165170) and SPIB are members of a subfamily of ETS (see ETS1; MIM 164720) transcription factors. ETS proteins share a conserved ETS domain that mediates specific DNA binding. SPIB and SPI1 bind to a purine-rich sequence, the PU box (5-prime-GAGG

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional activator that binds to the PU-box (5'-GAGGAA-3') and acts as a lymphoid-specific enhancer. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

SPIB: Sequence specific transcriptional activator which binds to the PU-box, a purine-rich DNA sequence (5'-GAGGAA-3') that can act as a lymphoid-specific enhancer. Promotes development of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), also known as type 2 DC precursors (pre-DC2) or natural interferon (IFN)-producing cells. These cells have the capacity to produce large amounts of interferon and block viral replication. May be required for B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling, which is necessary for normal B-cell development and antigenic stimulation. Belongs to the ETS family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3-q13.4

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: sequence-specific DNA binding

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; cell differentiation

Product Notes

The SPIB spib (Catalog #AAA3203978) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SPIB antibody - middle region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SPIB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPIB spib for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: WGQQKGNRKR MTYQKLARAL RNYAKTGEIR KVKRKLTYQF DSALLPAVRR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SPIB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
