NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the polo family of serine/threonine protein kinases that have a role in normal cell division. This gene is most abundantly expressed in testis, spleen and fetal tissues, and its expression is inducible by serum, suggesting that it may also play an important role in cells undergoing rapid cell division. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]
Uniprot Description
PLK2: a kinase of the PLK family. Participates in a mitotic checkpoint in which p53-dependent activation Plk2 prevents mitotic catastrophe following spindle damage. Plk2(-/-) embryos show retarded growth and skeletal development late in gestation. Apparently plays a role for Plk2 in the cell cycle.

Product Notes
The SNK / PLK2 plk2 (Catalog #AAA249974) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-SNK / PLK2 Antibody (aa291-340) IHC-plus reacts with Mouse, Rat, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SNK / PLK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:40000) IHC-P (10 ug/ml) WB (1:500 - 1:1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNK / PLK2 plk2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNK / PLK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
