Related Product Information for anti-SMC1B antibody
Function: Meiosis-specific component of cohesin complex. Required for the maintenance of meiotic cohesion, but not, or only to a minor extent, for its establishment. Contributes to axial element (AE) formation and the organization of chromatin loops along the AE. Plays a key role in synapsis, recombination and chromosome movements. The cohesin complex is required for the cohesion of sister chromatids after DNA replication. The cohesin complex apparently forms a large proteinaceous ring within which sister chromatids can be trapped. At anaphase, the complex is cleaved and dissociates from chromatin, allowing sister chromatids to segregate. The meiosis-specific cohesin complex probably replaces mitosis specific cohesin complex when it dissociates from chromatin during prophase I (By similarity).

Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Chromosome. Chromosome>Centromere. Note: Associates with chromatin. In prophase I stage of meiosis, localizes along the AE of synaptonemal complexes. In late-pachytene-diplotene, the bulk of protein dissociates from the chromosome arms probably because of phosphorylation by PLK, except at centromeres, where cohesin complexes remain. Remains chromatin associated at the centromeres up to metaphase II. At anaphase II, dissociates from centromeres, allowing chromosomes segregation (By similarity).

Subunit Structure: Forms a heterodimer with SMC3. Component of a meiosis-specific cohesin complex, probably composed of the SMC1B and SMC3 heterodimer attached via their SMC hinge domain, RAD21 (or its meiosis-specific related protein REC8), which link them, and STAG3, which interacts with RAD21 or REC8 (By similarity).

Similarity: The flexible SMC hinge domain, which separates the large intramolecular coiled coil regions, allows the heterotypic interaction with the corresponding domain of SMC3, forming a V-shaped heterodimer. The two heads of the heterodimer are then connected by different ends of the cleavable RAD21 or REC8 protein, forming a ring structure (By similarity).Belongs to the SMC family. SMC1 subfamily.

Product Notes

The SMC1B smc1b (Catalog #AAA9612014) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SMC1L2 Antibody reacts with Human Predicted Reactivity: Pig(80%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SMC1L2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). IF: 1:100-1:500 ICC: 1:100-1:500 WB: 1:500-1:2000 ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SMC1B smc1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SMC1L2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
