Related Product Information for anti-SIGLEC8 antibody
Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin (Ig)-like lectins, or SIGLECs (e.g., CD33 (MIM 159590)), are a family of type 1 transmembrane proteins each having a unique expression pattern, mostly in hemopoietic cells. SIGLEC8 is a member of the CD33-like subgroup of SIGLECs, which are localized to 19q13.3-q13.4 and have 2 conserved cytoplasmic tyrosine-based motifs: an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif, or ITIM (see MIM 604964), and a motif homologous to one identified in signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM; MIM 603492) that mediates an association with SLAM-associated protein (SAP; MIM 300490) (summarized by Foussias et al., 2000 [PubMed 11095983]).

Uniprot Description

SIGLEC8: Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3- linked sialic acid. Also binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.41

Molecular Function: protein binding; transmembrane receptor activity

Biological Process: signal transduction

Product Notes

The SIGLEC8 siglec8 (Catalog #AAA9131012) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SIGLEC8 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SIGLEC8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500 - 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SIGLEC8 siglec8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SIGLEC8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
