Uniprot Description

SIGLEC7: Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3- and alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. Also binds disialogangliosides (disialogalactosyl globoside, disialyl lactotetraosylceramide and disialyl GalNAc lactotetraoslylceramide). The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. In the immune response, may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatase(s) via their SH2 domain(s) that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. Mediates inhibition of natural killer cells cytotoxicity. May play a role in hemopoiesis. Inhibits differentiation of CD34+ cell precursors towards myelomonocytic cell lineage and proliferation of leukemic myeloid cells (in vitro). Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Product Notes

The SIGLEC7 siglec7 (Catalog #AAA6011738) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SIGLEC7, NT (Sialic Acid-binding Ig-like Lectin 7, Siglec-7, QA79 Membrane Protein, Adhesion Inhibitory Receptor Molecule-1, AIRM-1, p75, D-siglec, AIRM1, D-siglec, CDw328, CD328) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SIGLEC7 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 10ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SIGLEC7 siglec7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SIGLEC7, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
