Related Product Information for anti-RORgamma antibody
The nuclear orphan receptors RORalpha and RORg are members of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily. Members of this family acts by directly associating with DNA sequences known as hormone response elements (HREs) and typically bind DNA as either homo- or heterodimers. RORalpha and RORg are unique in that they bind DNA as monomers. RORalpha has multiple isoforms that share common DNA and putative ligand-binding domains, but differ in their amino terminal domains, which are generated by alternative RNA processing. RORg comprises a 560 amino acid protein that shares 50% amino acid identity with RORalpha and is most highly expressed in skeletal muscle. Although these proteins are considered "orphan receptors," due to a lack of defined ligands, experimental evidence has shown that melatonin may be the natural ligand for these nuclear receptors. The gene encoding RORalpha maps to chromosome 15q22.2 and the gene encoding RORg maps to chromosome 1q21.3.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA-binding transcription factor and is a member of the NR1 subfamily of nuclear hormone receptors. The specific functions of this protein are not known; however, studies of a similar gene in mice have shown that this gene may be essential for lymphoid organogenesis and may play an important regulatory role in thymopoiesis. In addition, studies in mice suggest that the protein encoded by this gene may inhibit the expression of Fas ligand and IL2. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

RORC: Possible nuclear receptor for hydroxycholesterols, the binding of which strongly promotes coactivators recruitment. Essential for thymopoiesis and the development of several secondary lymphoid tissues, including lymph nodes. Involved in lineage specification of uncommitted CD4(+) T-helper cells into Th17 cells. Regulate the expression of several components of the circadian clock. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The RORgamma rorc (Catalog #AAA3015835) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RORgamma polyclonal antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RORgamma can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:1000~1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RORgamma rorc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RORgamma, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
