Related Product Information for anti-RNF19A antibody
The protein encoded this gene contains two RING-finger
motifs and an IBR (in between RING fingers) motif. This protein is
an E3 ubiquintin ligase that is localized in Lewy bodies (LBs), a
characteristic neuronal inclusion in Parkinson's disease (PD)
brains. This protein interacts with UBE2L3/UBCH7 and UBE2E2/UBCH8,
but not other ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes. This protein is found
to bind and ubiquitylate synphilin 1 (SNCAIP), which is a
interacting protein of alpha synuclein in neurons, and a major
component of LB. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding
the same protein have been reported.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the ring between ring fingers (RBR) protein family, and the encoded protein contains two RING-finger motifs and an in between RING fingers motif. This protein is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that is localized to Lewy bodies, and ubiquitylates synphilin-1, which is an interacting protein of alpha synuclein in neurons. The encoded protein may be involved in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Uniprot Description

RNF19: E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which accepts ubiquitin from E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes UBE2L3 and UBE2L6 in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates, such as SNCAIP or CASR. Specifically ubiquitinates pathogenic SOD1 variants, which leads to their proteasomal degradation and to neuronal protection. Belongs to the RBR family. RNF19 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Ligase; Ubiquitin ligase; EC 6.3.2.-; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; EC 6.3.2.19; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q22

Cellular Component: centrosome; cytoplasm; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; transcription factor binding; ligase activity

Biological Process: protein ubiquitination; microtubule cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis

Product Notes

The RNF19A rnf19a (Catalog #AAA9212163) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 384-413. The RNF19A Antibody (Center) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Mouse, Pig) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RNF19A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RNF19A rnf19a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RNF19A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
