Related Product Information for anti-RERE antibody
This gene encodes a member of the atrophin family of arginine-glutamic acid (RE) dipeptide repeat-containing proteins. The encoded protein co-localizes with a transcription factor in the nucleus, and its overexpression triggers apoptosis. A similar protein in mouse associates with histone deacetylase and is thought to function as a transcriptional co-repressor during embryonic development. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the atrophin family of arginine-glutamic acid (RE) dipeptide repeat-containing proteins. The encoded protein co-localizes with a transcription factor in the nucleus, and its overexpression triggers apoptosis. A similar protein in mouse associates with histone deacetylase and is thought to function as a transcriptional co-repressor during embryonic development. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

RERE: Plays a role as a transcriptional repressor during development. May play a role in the control of cell survival. Overexpression of RERE recruits BAX to the nucleus particularly to POD and triggers caspase-3 activation, leading to cell death. A chromosomal aberration involving RERE is found in the neuroblastoma cell line. Translocation t(1;15)(p36.2;q24). 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.23

Cellular Component: histone deacetylase complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; poly-glutamine tract binding; chromatin binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: chromatin remodeling; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent; multicellular organismal development; NLS-bearing substrate import into nucleus

Product Notes

The RERE rere (Catalog #AAA4758337) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RERE Rabbit pAb reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RERE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). ELISA: 1:2000-1:5000 IHC: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RERE rere for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RERE, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
