NCBI Description

Renalase is a flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent amine oxidase that is secreted into the blood from the kidney (Xu et al., 2005 [PubMed 15841207]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

RENALASE: Probable FAD-dependent amine oxidase secreted by the kidney, which circulates in blood and modulates cardiac function and systemic blood pressure. Degrades catecholamines such as dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine in vitro. Lowers blood pressure in vivo by decreasing cardiac contractility and heart rate and preventing a compensatory increase in peripheral vascular tone, suggesting a causal link to the increased plasma catecholamine and heightened cardiovascular risk. High concentrations of catecholamines activate plasma renalase and promotes its secretion and synthesis. According to PubMed:17385068, is unlikely that renalase has physiologically relevant catecholamine-oxidizing activity. Belongs to the renalase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Oxidoreductase; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; EC 1.6.3.5

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q23.31

Product Notes

The C10orf59 rnls (Catalog #AAA420455) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-Renalase (aa 134 to 147) Antibody reacts with Tested: Mouse, Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Renalase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000. Western Blot: Approx 37kDa band observed in Mouse Kidney and Rat Kidney lysates (calculated MW of 37.8kDa according to Human NP_001026879.1 and 35. 0kDa according to Rat NP_001014189.1). Recommended concentration: 0.5-1.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the C10orf59 rnls for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QINLRDDKWE VSKQ. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Renalase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
