NCBI Description

This gene encodes a small GTPase of the Ras superfamily. Rab proteins are involved in the regulation of diverse cellular functions associated with intracellular membrane trafficking, including autophagy and immune response to bacterial infection. The encoded protein may play a role in central nervous system development by antagonizing sonic hedgehog signaling. Disruption of this gene has been implicated in Carpenter syndrome as well as cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Product Notes

The RAB23 rab23 (Catalog #AAA421987) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-RAB23 Antibody reacts with Tested: Mouse; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RAB23 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 64000. Western Blot: Approx 30kDa band observed in Mouse Eye lysates (calculated MW of 26.7kDa according to Human NP_057361.3 and 26.8kDa according to Mouse NP_033025.2). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercial sources. Recommended concentration: 1-3ug/ml. Recommended concentration: 1-3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RAB23 rab23 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: PNKQRTKKNR NP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RAB23, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
