Related Product Information for anti-Rab14 antibody
RAB14, member RAS oncogene family

RAB14 belongs to the large RAB family of low molecular weight GTPases that are involved in intracellular membrane trafficking. This protein is expressed at high levels in kidney, lung, brain, spleen and thymus and it is thought to be involved in vesicular trafficking and neurotransmitter release. It is also involved in the biosynthetic/recycling pathway between the Golgi and endosomal compartments.

NCBI Description

RAB14 belongs to the large RAB family of low molecular mass GTPases that are involved in intracellular membrane trafficking. These proteins act as molecular switches that flip between an inactive GDP-bound state and an active GTP-bound state in which they recruit downstream effector proteins onto membranes (Junutula et al., 2004 [PubMed 15004230]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2009]

Uniprot Description

Function: Involved in membrane trafficking between the Golgi complex and endosomes during early embryonic development. Regulates the Golgi to endosome transport of FGFR-containing vesicles during early development, a key process for developing basement membrane and epiblast and primitive endoderm lineages during early postimplantation development. May act by modulating the kinesin KIF16B-cargo association to endosomes

By similarity. Regulates, together with its guanine nucleotide exchange factor DENND6A, the specific endocytic transport of ADAM10, N-cadherin/CDH2 shedding and cell-cell adhesion. Ref.17

Subunit structure: Interacts with KIF16B

By similarity. Interacts with ZFYVE20. Ref.18

Subcellular location: Recycling endosome. Early endosome membrane; Lipid-anchor; Cytoplasmic side. Golgi apparatus membrane; Lipid-anchor; Cytoplasmic side

By similarity. Golgi apparatus › trans-Golgi network membrane; Lipid-anchor; Cytoplasmic side. Cytoplasmic vesicle › phagosome. Cytoplasmic vesicle › phagosome membrane; Lipid-anchor; Cytoplasmic side

By similarity. Note: Recruited to recycling endosomes by DENND6A. Recruited to phagosomes containing S.aureus or M.tuberculosis. Ref.13 Ref.16 Ref.17

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Rab family.

Sequence caution: The sequence CAI12361.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction.

Product Notes

The Rab14 rab14 (Catalog #AAA448016) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rab14 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, mouse, rat, bovine, canine, chickevian, donkey, feline, goat, guinea pig, hamster, horse, porcine, rabbit, sheep, simian and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Rab14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: 1:250-1:2,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Rab14 rab14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Rab14, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
