NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is proteolytically processed to release a peptide that inhibits pancreatic secretion and mobility in the gut. Rare variations in this gene could increase susceptibility to obesity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

PYY: This gut peptide inhibits exocrine pancreatic secretion, has a vasoconstrictory action and inhibitis jejunal and colonic mobility. Belongs to the NPY family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PYY pyy (Catalog #AAA6339414) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PYY, CT (PYY, Peptide YY, PYY-I, Peptide tyrosine tyrosine, Peptide YY(3-36), PYY-II) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PYY can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 IF: 1:10-50 IHC: 1:50-100 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PYY pyy for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PYY, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
