Related Product Information for anti-PVRL1 antibody
Description: This gene encodes an adhesion protein that plays a role in the organization of adherens junctions and tight junctions in epithelial and endothelial cells. The protein is a calcium(2+)-independent cell-cell adhesion molecule that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and has 3 extracellular immunoglobulin-like loops, a single transmembrane domain (in some isoforms), and a cytoplasmic region. This protein acts as a receptor for glycoprotein D (gD) of herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 (HSV-1, HSV-2), and pseudorabies virus (PRV) and mediates viral entry into epithelial and neuronal cells. Mutations in this gene cause cleft lip and palate/ectodermal dysplasia 1 syndrome (CLPED1) as well as non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (CL/P). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding proteins with distinct C-termini. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Function: Promotes cell-cell contacts by forming homophilic or heterophilic trans-dimers. Heterophilic interactions have been detected between NECTIN1 and NECTIN3 and between NECTIN1 and NECTIN4. Has some neurite outgrowth-promoting activity.
Subunit Structure: Interacts (via Ig-like C2-type domain 2) with FGFR1, FGFR2 and FGFR3 (By similarity). Cis-and trans-homodimer. Can form trans-heterodimers with NECTIN3 and with NECTIN4. Interaction between NECTIN1 and NECTIN3 on the pre-and postsynaptic sites, respectively, initiates the formation of puncta adherentia junctions between axons and dendrites. Interacts (via cytoplasmic domain) with AFDN (via PDZ domain); this interaction recruits NECTIN1 to cadherin-based adherens junctions and provides a connection with the actin cytoskeleton. Interacts with integrin alphaV/beta3.
Similarity: Ig-like C2-type 2 mediates neurite outgrowth through binding, induction of phosphorylation, and activation of FGFR. Belongs to the nectin family.

Product Notes

The PVRL1 nectin1 (Catalog #AAA9607427) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PVRL1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PVRL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PVRL1 nectin1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PVRL1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
