PSPH Antibody, L-3-phosphoserine phosphatase Antibody, Phosphoserine phosphatase Antibody, PSPase Antibody, PSP Antibody, PSPHD Antibody Description: PSPH belongs to a subfamily of the phosphotransferases. This encoded enzyme is responsible for the third and last step in L-serine formation. It catalyzes magnesium-dependent hydrolysis of L-phosphoserine and is also involved in an exchange reaction between L-serine and L-phosphoserine. Deficiency of this protein is thought to be linked to Williams syndrome.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a subfamily of the phosphotransferases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PSPH: Catalyzes the last step in the biosynthesis of serine from carbohydrates. The reaction mechanism proceeds via the formation of a phosphoryl-enzyme intermediates. Defects in PSPH are the cause of phosphoserine phosphatase deficiency (PSPHD)[MIM:614023]. A disorder that results in pre- and postnatal growth retardation, moderate psychomotor retardation and facial features suggestive of Williams syndrome. Belongs to the SerB family.

Protein type: Hydrolase; EC 3.1.3.3; Amino Acid Metabolism - glycine, serine and threonine; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p11.2

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; neuron projection

Molecular Function: calcium ion binding; magnesium ion binding; phosphoserine phosphatase activity; protein homodimerization activity

Biological Process: amino acid biosynthetic process; dephosphorylation; L-serine biosynthetic process; L-serine metabolic process; response to mechanical stimulus; response to nutrient levels; response to testosterone stimulus

Disease: Phosphoserine Phosphatase Deficiency

Product Notes

The PSPH psph (Catalog #AAA2400082) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PSPH Antibody (aa1-175) IHC-plus reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PSPH can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB). ICC (1:100 - 1:1000) IHC-P (7.5 ug/ml) WB (1:500 - 1:3000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PSPH psph for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PSPH, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
