NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the homeobox transcription factor family. Members of this family contain a homeobox domain that consists of a 60-amino acid helix-turn-helix structure that binds DNA and RNA. The protein encoded by this gene is conserved across vertebrates and may play an essential role during development. Altered levels of this protein have been reported in cancers of different organs, such as colon, brain, blood, breast, pancreas, liver and esophagus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
Uniprot Description

Product Notes
The PROX-1 prox1 (Catalog #AAA6337602) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PROX-1 (S514) (PROX1, Prospero Homeobox Protein 1, Homeobox Prospero-like Protein PROX1) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PROX-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), ELISA (EIA). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PROX-1 prox1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PROX-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
