Testing Data (Unstimlated (lane 1) and PDBu stimulated (lane 2) HEK293 cell lysates were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose, and probed with antiphospho-PKD2 (Ser876) (2ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates phospho-PKD2 (Ser876) (105kD).)

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the protein kinase D (PKD) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. This kinase can be activated by phorbol esters as well as by gastrin via the cholecystokinin B receptor (CCKBR) in gastric cancer cells. It can bind to diacylglycerol (DAG) in the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and may regulate basolateral membrane protein exit from TGN. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The PKD2 prkd2 (Catalog #AAA6495270) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Protein Kinase D2, Phosphorylated (Ser876) (PKD2) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Protein Kinase D2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblot (IB), Western Blot (WB). IB: 0.5-2ug/ml of this lot detected phospho-PKD2 (Ser876) in RIPA lysates from PDBu (Phorbol 12,13-dibutyrate) stimulated HEK293 cells. Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PKD2 prkd2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Kinase D2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
