NCBI Description

This gene encodes the anterior pituitary hormone prolactin. This secreted hormone is a growth regulator for many tissues, including cells of the immune system. It may also play a role in cell survival by suppressing apoptosis, and it is essential for lactation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Product Notes

The PRL prl (Catalog #AAA544386) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Prolactin Antibody FITC-Conjugated reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Prolactin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Confocal Microscopy (CM), ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Confocal Microscopy||1:100 Dot Blot: 1:50,000 ELISA: 1:50,000 Immunocytochemistry: 1:100 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 Western Blot: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRL prl for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prolactin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
