Related Product Information for anti-PFN2 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein belonging to the profilin family. It is thought to regulate actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals. There are two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms described for this gene. Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein belonging to the profilin family. It is thought to regulate actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals. There are two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

profilin 2: Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG. Belongs to the profilin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PFN2 pfn2 (Catalog #AAA4760634) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Profilin 2 Rabbit pAb reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Profilin 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC-P: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PFN2 pfn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Profilin 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
