NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and the second messenger diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate a wide variety of protein targets and are known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways. PKC family members also serve as major receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each member of the PKC family has a specific expression profile and is believed to play a distinct role in cells. The protein encoded by this gene is one of the PKC family members. This kinase has been shown to be involved in many different cellular functions, such as neuron channel activation, apoptosis, cardioprotection from ischemia, heat shock response, as well as insulin exocytosis. Knockout studies in mice suggest that this kinase is important for lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-mediated signaling in activated macrophages and may also play a role in controlling anxiety-like behavior. Product Notes
The PRKCE prkce (Catalog #AAA6433007) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PRKCE (Protein Kinase C epsilon Type, MGC125656, MGC125657, PKCE, nPKC-epsilon) (PE) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PRKCE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ICC: 1:50-1:200 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRKCE prkce for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PRKCE, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
