Rabbit anti-Human, mouse PPFIA2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-PPFIA2 antibody
PPFIA2 Antibody (Center)
protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family.
Liprins interact with members of LAR family of transmembrane
protein tyrosine phosphatases, which are known to be important for
axon guidance and mammary gland development. It has been proposed
that liprins are multivalent proteins that form complex structures
and act as scaffolds for the recruitment and anchoring of LAR
family of tyrosine phosphatases. This protein is most closely
related to PPFIA1, a liprin family member known to interact with
the protein phosphatase LAR. The expression of this gene is found
to be downregulated by androgens in a prostate cancer cell line.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family. Liprins interact with members of LAR family of transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatases, which are known to be important for axon guidance and mammary gland development. It has been proposed that liprins are multivalent proteins that form complex structures and act as scaffolds for the recruitment and anchoring of LAR family of tyrosine phosphatases. This protein has been shown to bind the calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine protein kinase (MAGUK family) protein (also known as CASK) and proposed to regulate higher-order brain functions in mammals. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Uniprot Description
liprin alpha 2: Alters PTPRF cellular localization and induces PTPRF clustering. May regulate the disassembly of focal adhesions. May localize receptor-like tyrosine phosphatases type 2A at specific sites on the plasma membrane, possibly regulating their interaction with the extracellular environment and their association with substrates. Belongs to the liprin family. Liprin-alpha subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell adhesion; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q21.31
Cellular Component: cell surface; cytoplasm; presynaptic active zone; cytosol
Molecular Function: protein binding; protein complex binding
Biological Process: synaptic transmission; glutamate secretion; neurotransmitter secretion; cell-matrix adhesion

Product Notes
The PPFIA2 ppfia2 (Catalog #AAA9204668) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 571-599. The PPFIA2 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPFIA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPFIA2 ppfia2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPFIA2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
