Related Product Information for anti-PMAIP1 antibody
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and development. The p53 tumor-suppressor protein induces apoptosis through transcriptional activation of several genes including p53R2, p53AIP1, and PUMA. A new p53 target gene, Noxa, was recently identified (1), which encodes a protein belonging to the subfamily of BH3-only proapoptic proteins. Noxa and PUMA are both transcriptional targets of p53 and BH3-only proteins. X-ray irradiation increased p53-dependent Noxa mRNA and protein levels. Noxa, when ectopically expressed, interacted with anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members, resulting in the activation of caspase-9 (1). Noxa, like PUMA, localized to mitochondria and induces apoptosis in response to p53 (1-3). Noxa and PUMA may represent direct mediators of p53-induced apoptosis. Increased levels of p53 and its target gene Noxa was found in the impaired tumor development (4).

Uniprot Description

NOXA: Promotes activation of caspases and apoptosis. Promotes mitochondrial membrane changes and efflux of apoptogenic proteins from the mitochondria. Contributes to p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis after radiation exposure. Promotes proteasomal degradation of MCL1. Competes with BAK1 for binding to MCL1 and can displace BAK1 from its binding site on MCL1. Competes with BIM/BCL2L11 for binding to MCL1 and can displace BIM/BCL2L11 from its binding site on MCL1. Interacts with MCL1, BCL2A1 and BAX. Up-regulated by p53/TP53, phorbol esters, double- stranded RNA, IFNB1/IFN-beta and viruses. Highly expressed in adult T-cell leukemia cell line. Belongs to the PMAIP1 family.

Product Notes

The PMAIP1 pmaip1 (Catalog #AAA613673) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PMAIP1 (Phorbol-12-Myristate-13-Acetate Induced Protein 1, APR, NOXA) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PMAIP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blotting: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-10ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PMAIP1 pmaip1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PMAIP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
