NCBI Description

This gene encodes a core component of the cell division cycle 5-like (CDC5L) complex. The CDC5L complex is part of the spliceosome and is required for pre-mRNA splicing. The encoded protein plays a critical role in alternative splice site selection. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

PLRG1: Component of the PRP19-CDC5L complex that forms an integral part of the spliceosome and is required for activating pre-mRNA splicing. Belongs to the WD repeat PRL1/PRL2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Spliceosome; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; RNA splicing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q31.2-q32.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; DNA replication factor A complex; nuclear speck; nucleus

Molecular Function: signal transducer activity; protein binding; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; RNA splicing; gene expression; signal transduction

Product Notes

The PLRG1 plrg1 (Catalog #AAA9404223) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's PLRG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:20000-1:80000 WB: 1:1000-1:2000 IHC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLRG1 plrg1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLRG1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
