NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a pleckstrin homology domain-containing adapter protein. The encoded protein is localized to the plasma membrane where it specifically binds phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate. This protein may be involved in the formation of signaling complexes in the plasma membrane. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with age-related macular degeneration. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 5.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Uniprot Description
PLEKHA1: Binds specifically to phosphatidylinositol 3,4- diphosphate (PtdIns3,4P2), but not to other phosphoinositides. May recruit other proteins to the plasma membrane. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The PLEKHA1 plekha1 (Catalog #AAA6000538) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PLEKHA1, ID (PLEKHA1, TAPP1, Pleckstrin homology domain-containing family A member 1, Tandem PH domain-containing protein 1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PLEKHA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLEKHA1 plekha1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLEKHA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
