NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the phosphatidylinositol transfer protein family. The encoded cytoplasmic protein plays a role in multiple processes including cell signaling and lipid metabolism by facilitating the transfer of phosphatidylinositol between membrane compartments. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene, and a pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]

Uniprot Description

Phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins mediate the monomeric transport of lipids by shielding a lipid from the aqueous environment and binding the lipid in a hydrophobic cavity. Able to transfer phosphatidylinositol in vitro.

Product Notes

The PITPNC1 pitpnc1 (Catalog #AAA855291) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PITPNC1 Antibody reacts with Human Predicted: Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PITPNC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:20,000-1:80,000 WB: 1:500-1:1,000 IHC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PITPNC1 pitpnc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PITPNC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
