Rabbit anti-Human PIAS1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-PIAS1 antibody
PIAS1 Antibody (C-term)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of PIAS1 (arrow) using rabbit polyclonal PIAS1 Antibody (C-term). 293 cell lysates (2 ug/lane) either nontransfected (Lane 1) or transiently transfected with the PIAS1 gene (Lane 2) (Origene Technologies).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma.)

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the mammalian PIAS [protein inhibitor of activated STAT-1 (signal transducer and activator of transcription-1)] family. This member contains a putative zinc-binding motif and a highly acidic region. It inhibits STAT1-mediated gene activation and the DNA binding activity, binds to Gu protein/RNA helicase II/DEAD box polypeptide 21, and interacts with androgen receptor (AR). It functions in testis as a nuclear receptor transcriptional coregulator and may have a role in AR initiation and maintenance of spermatogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
PIAS1: Functions as an E3-type small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) ligase, stabilizing the interaction between UBE2I and the substrate, and as a SUMO-tethering factor. Plays a crucial role as a transcriptional coregulation in various cellular pathways, including the STAT pathway, the p53 pathway and the steroid hormone signaling pathway. In vitro, binds A/T-rich DNA. The effects of this transcriptional coregulation, transactivation or silencing, may vary depending upon the biological context. Together with PRMT1, may repress STAT1 transcriptional activity, in the late phase of interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) signaling. Interacts with NCOA2 and AR. Interacts with NR2C1; the interaction promotes its sumoylation. Interacts with DDX21, CSRP2, AXIN1, JUN, UBE2I, SUMO1, SATB2, PLAG1, TP53 and STAT1 (dimer), following IFNA1-stimulation. Interacts with SP3 (preferentially when SUMO-modified). Interacts with KLF8; the interaction results in SUMO ligation and repression of KLF8 transcriptional activity and of its cell cycle progression into G(1) phase. Interacts with STAT1. Interacts with CHUK/IKKA; this interaction induces PIAS1 phosphorylation. Interacts with PTK2/FAK1; the interaction promotes its sumoylation. Interacts with DDX5. Expressed in numerous tissues with highest level in testis. Belongs to the PIAS family.

Product Notes
The PIAS1 pias1 (Catalog #AAA9213401) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 607-637. The PIAS1 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PIAS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIAS1 pias1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PIAS1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
