Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4ºC for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 12 months.

Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a membrane-associated phospholipase that displays lysophospholipase and phospholipase A2 activities through removal of sn-1 and sn-2 fatty acids of glycerophospholipids. In addition, it displays lipase and retinyl ester hydrolase activities. The encoded protein is highly conserved and is composed of a large, glycosylated extracellular domain composed of four tandem homologous domains, followed by a hydrophobic segment that anchors the enzyme to the membrane and a short C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. This gene has been identified as a candidate rheumatoid arthritis risk gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]

Uniprot Description

PLB1: Membrane-associated phospholipase. Exhibits a calcium- independent broad substrate specificity including phospholipase A2/lysophospholipase activity. Preferential hydrolysis at the sn-2 position of diacylphospholipids and diacyglycerol, whereas it shows no positional specificity toward triacylglycerol. Exhibits also esterase activity toward p-nitrophenyl. May act on the brush border membrane to facilitate the absorption of digested lipids. Belongs to the 'GDSL' lipolytic enzyme family. Phospholipase B1 subfamily. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PLB plb1 (Catalog #AAA2027529) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Phospholipase B (PLB) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Phospholipase B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB; IHC; ICC; IP. Western blotting: 0.5-2 ug/mL;1:500-2000 Immunohistochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL;1:50-200 Immunocytochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL;1:50-200 Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLB plb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phospholipase B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
