Western Blot (WB)
(PI3KCB Antibody (C-term K727) western blot analysis in CEM cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the PI3KCB antibody detected the PI3KCB protein (arrow).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human prostata carcinoma tissue reacted with PI3KCB antibody (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks) phosphorylate the 3-prime OH position of the inositol ring of inositol lipids. They have been implicated as participants in signaling pathways regulating cell growth by virtue of their activation in response to various mitogenic stimuli. PI3Ks are composed of a 110-kD catalytic subunit, such as PIK3CB, and an 85-kD adaptor subunit (Hu et al., 1993 [PubMed 8246984]).[supplied by OMIM]
Uniprot Description
PIK3CB: catalytic subunit of phosphoinositide-3-kinase beta. Catalyzes the production of phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-triphosphate by phosphorylating phosphatidylinositol (PI), phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PIP) and phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2). Growth factors and hormones trigger this phosphorylation event, which in turn coordinates cell growth, cell cycle entry, cell migration and cell survival. PTEN reverses this process, and the PI3K signaling pathway is constitutively activated in human cancers that have loss of function of PTEN. Expressed ubiquitously.

The Phosphoinositide 3 Kinase, p110 beta (Phosphoinositide-3-kinase Catalytic beta Polypeptide, Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase Catalytic Subunit beta Isoform, Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase 110kD Catalytic Subunit beta, PtdIns- reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Phosphoinositide 3 Kinase, p110 beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIK3CB pik3cb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phosphoinositide 3 Kinase, p110 beta, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
