NCBI Description

Synaptic vesicle membrane docking and fusion is mediated by SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) located on the vesicle membrane (v-SNAREs) and the target membrane (t-SNAREs). The assembled v-SNARE/t-SNARE complex consists of a bundle of four helices, one of which is supplied by v-SNARE and the other three by t-SNARE. For t-SNAREs on the plasma membrane, the protein syntaxin supplies one helix and the protein encoded by this gene contributes the other two. Therefore, this gene product is a presynaptic plasma membrane protein involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. Two alternative transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Part of the SNARE core complex containing SNAP25, VAMP2 and syntaxin 1A. Associates with proteins involved in vesicle docking and membrane fusion. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The SNAP25 snap25 (Catalog #AAA9212700) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Phospho-SNAP25 (T138) Antibody reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Zebrafish, Bovine, Chicken, Mouse, Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Phospho-SNAP25 (T138) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Dot Blot (DB), ELISA (EIA). DB~~1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNAP25 snap25 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phospho-SNAP25 (T138), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
