Related Product Information for anti-PFDN6 antibody
This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against PFDN6. It was validated on Western Blot using a cell lysate as a positive control.

Target Description: PFDN6 binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. PFDN6 binds to nascent polypeptide chain and promotes folding in an environment in which there are many competing pathways for nonnative proteins.

NCBI Description

PFDN6 is a subunit of the heteromeric prefoldin complex that chaperones nascent actin (see MIM 102560) and alpha- and beta-tubulin (see MIM 602529 and MIM 191130, respectively) chains pending their transfer to the cytosolic chaperonin containing TCP1 (MIM 186980) (CCT) complex (Hansen et al., 1999 [PubMed 10209023]).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

PFDN6: Binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. Binds to nascent polypeptide chain and promotes folding in an environment in which there are many competing pathways for nonnative proteins. Belongs to the prefoldin subunit beta family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Chaperone

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; prefoldin complex

Molecular Function: chaperone binding; unfolded protein binding

Biological Process: 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding; cellular protein metabolic process; protein folding; chaperone-mediated protein complex assembly

Product Notes

The PFDN6 pfdn6 (Catalog #AAA3210745) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PFDN6 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Sheep, Yeast, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PFDN6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PFDN6 pfdn6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MAELIQKKLQ GEVEKYQQLQ KDLSKSMSGR QKLEAQLTEN NIVKEELALL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PFDN6, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
