PERICENTRIN 1; Polyclonal Antibody; GOAT ANTI HUMAN PERICENTRIN 1 (C-TERMINAL); anti-NUP85 antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Goat
Reactivity
Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence)
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognises the C-terminal of human pericentrin 1, a 75 kDa component of the filamentous matrix of the centrosome, expressed in all tissues. When associated with centrosome and Golgi localised protein kinase N-associated protein (CG-NAP), pericentrin 1 anchors the gamma-tubulin ring complex, providing a site for microtubule nucleation and the initial establishment of organized microtubule arrays. It binds calmodulin and is a constituent of nuclear pore proteins (nup) 107-160, a sub-complex of the nuclear pore complex. Pericentrin 1 is thought to play a role in the functioning of the centrosomes, cytoskeleton, and cell-cycle progression.
Form/Format
Purified
Purified IgG - liquid
Concentration
IgG concentration 0.5 mg/ml (varies by lot)
Sequence Length
656
Applicable Applications for anti-NUP85 antibody
ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 75kDa in Hela cell lysates. A minimum incubation time of 1 hour is recommended with this antibody.
ELISA: Maximum Dilution: >1/32,000
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1; Maximum Dilution: 3ug/ml
Perservative Stabilisers
0.02% Sodium Azide
0.5% Bovine Serum Albumin
Immunogen
Peptide sequence C-ARAIIREGSLEGS corresponding to the C-terminal of pericentrin 1 (NP_079120).
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human pericentrin 1 (CT) were raised by repeated immunisations of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein component of the Nup107-160 subunit of the nuclear pore complex. Nuclear pore complexes are embedded in the nuclear envelope and promote bidirectional transport of macromolecules between the cytoplasm and nucleus. The encoded protein can also bind to the C-terminus of chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 2 (CCR2) and promote chemotaxis of monocytes, thereby participating in the inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Uniprot Description

NUP85: Essential component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) that seems to be required for NPC assembly and maintenance. As part of the NPC Nup107-160 subcomplex plays a role in RNA export and in tethering NUP98/Nup98 and NUP153 to the nucleus. The Nup107-160 complex seems to be required for spindle assembly during mitosis. NUP85 is required for membrane clustering of CCL2- activated CCR2. Seems to be involved in CCR2-mediated chemotaxis of monocytes and may link activated CCR2 to the phosphatidyl- inositol 3-kinase-Rac-lammellipodium protrusion cascade. Belongs to the nucleoporin Nup85 family.

Product Notes

The NUP85 nup85 (Catalog #AAA221385) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GOAT ANTI HUMAN PERICENTRIN 1 (C-TERMINAL) reacts with Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PERICENTRIN 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 75kDa in Hela cell lysates. A minimum incubation time of 1 hour is recommended with this antibody. ELISA: Maximum Dilution: >1/32,000 Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1; Maximum Dilution: 3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NUP85 nup85 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PERICENTRIN 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
