Related Product Information for anti-PDXK antibody
Pyridoxal kinase (PdxK, EC 2.7.1.35) is an important enzyme of the vitamin B6 salvage pathway which is required for phosphorylation of B6 vitamers. PDXK belongs to the phosphotransferase family of enzymes and catalyzes the conversion of the three active forms of vitamin B6, pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and pyridoxamine, to their phosphorylated forms and thereby plays a key role in pyridoxal 5'-phosphate salvage. Pyridoxal kinase (PDXK) catalyzes the phosphorylation of pyridoxal, pyridoxamine, and pyridoxine in the presence of ATP and Zn2+. This constitutes an essential step in the synthesis of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP), the active form of vitamin B6, a cofactor for over 140 enzymes. In Drosophila, mutations in the dPdxk gene cause chromosome aberrations (CABs) and increase glucose content in larval hemolymph. Both phenotypes are rescued by the expression of the wild type human PDXK counterpart.

Product Notes

The PDXK (Catalog #AAA8108002) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PDXK Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PDXK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC-P: 1:50-1:200 IP: 1-5uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PDXK for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PDXK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
