NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is conserved across metazoans. In vertebrates, this gene is linked in a head-to-head arrangement with the adjacent parkin gene, which is associated with autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson's disease. These genes are co-regulated in various tissues and they share a bi-directional promoter. Both genes are associated with susceptibility to leprosy. The parkin co-regulated gene protein forms a large molecular complex with chaperones, including heat shock proteins 70 and 90, and chaperonin components. This protein is also a component of Lewy bodies in Parkinson's disease patients, and it suppresses unfolded Pael receptor-induced neuronal cell death. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

PACRG: Suppresses cell death induced by accumulation of unfolded Pael receptor (Pael-R, a substrate of Parkin). Facilitates the formation of inclusions consisting of Pael-R, molecular chaperones, protein degradation molecules and itself when proteasome is inhibited. May play an important role in the formation of Lewy bodies and protection of dopaminergic neurons against Parkinson disease. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PACRG pacrg (Catalog #AAA614921) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PARK2 Co-regulated (PACRG, PARK2CRG, FLJ32724, GLUP, HAK005771, RP3-495O10.2) reacts with Human, Rat0 and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PARK2 Co-regulated can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1.5-2.5ug/ml Western Blot: 1:500-1:3000 ELISA: 1:2000-1:10,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PACRG pacrg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PARK2 Co-regulated, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
