Related Product Information for anti-PAPOLG antibody
This gene encodes a member of the poly(A) polymerase
family which catalyzes template-independent extension of the 3' end
of a DNA/RNA strand. This enzyme shares 60% identity to the well
characterized poly(A) polymerase II (PAPII) at the amino acid
level. These two enzymes have similar organization of structural
and functional domains. This enzyme is exclusively localized in the
nucleus and exhibits both nonspecific and CPSF (cleavage and
polyadenylation specificity factor)/AAUAAA-dependent
polyadenylation activity. This gene is located on chromosome 2 in
contrast to the PAPII gene, which is located on chromosome 14.

Uniprot Description

PAP-gamma: a member of the poly(A) polymerase family which catalyzes template-independent extension of the 3' end of a DNA/RNA strand. Shares 60% identity with poly(A) polymerase II (PAPII) at the amino acid level. Exclusively localized in the nucleus and exhibits both nonspecific and CPSF (cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor)/AAUAAA-dependent polyadenylation activity. Responsible for the post-transcriptional adenylation of the 3'-terminal several small RNAs including signal recognition particle (SRP) RNA, nuclear 7SK RNA, U2 small nuclear RNA, and ribosomal 5S RNA. Ten alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Transferase; EC 2.7.7.19

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p16.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; membrane; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: polynucleotide adenylyltransferase activity; RNA binding; metal ion binding; ATP binding

Biological Process: RNA polyadenylation; mRNA polyadenylation

Product Notes

The PAPOLG papolg (Catalog #AAA9207195) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 685-714. The PAPOLG Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PAPOLG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PAPOLG papolg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PAPOLG, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
