Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 3(PAK3) detection. Tested with WB in Human;Mouse;Rat.

Background: Nucleobindin-2 is a calcium-binding EF-hand protein that in humans is encoded by the NUCB2 gene. By exon trapping and sequence analysis, the NUCB2 sequence has been identified on chromosome 11p15-p14. This gene encodes a protein with a suggested role in calcium level maintenance, eating regulation in the hypothalamus, and release of tumor necrosis factor from vascular endothelial cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase and forms an activated complex with GTP-bound RAS-like (P21), CDC2 and RAC1. This protein may be necessary for dendritic development and for the rapid cytoskeletal reorganization in dendritic spines associated with synaptic plasticity. Defects in this gene are the cause of non-syndromic mental retardation X-linked type 30 (MRX30), also called X-linked mental retardation type 47 (MRX47). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]

Uniprot Description

PAK3: a protein kinase of the STE20 family that regulates synapse formation and plasticity in the hippocampus. May be necessary for dendritic development and for the rapid cytoskeletal reorganization in dendritic spines associated with synaptic plasticity. Forms an activated complex with GTP-bound P21, CDC2 and RAC1 proteins. Missense and truncation mutations linked to nonsyndromic mental retardation type 30 (MRX30). Two alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported.

Product Notes

The PAK3 pak3 (Catalog #AAA178167) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PAK3 Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat Predicted to work with: Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PAK3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PAK3 pak3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PAK3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
