Related Product Information for anti-p63, alpha antibody
The p53 tumor suppressor protein plays a major role in cellular response to DNA damage and other genomic aberrations. Activation of p53 can lead to either cell cycle arrest and DNA repair or apoptosis (1). In addition to p53, mammalian cells contain two p53 family members, p63 and p73, which are similar to p53 in both structure and function (2). While p63 can induce p53-responsive genes and apoptosis, mutation of p63 rarely results in tumors (2). Amplification of the p63 gene is frequently observed in squamous cell carcinomas of the lung, head and neck (2,3). The p63 gene contains an alternative transcription intiation site, which yields a 40kD delta, Np63 lacking the transactivation domain, and alternative splicing at the carboxy-terminus yields the alpha, beta and gamma isoforms (3,4).

Product Notes

The p63, alpha (Catalog #AAA625598) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The p63, alpha (KET, p51, p40, AIS, p73L) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's p63, alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoflourescence and Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunoflourescence (IF-IC): 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the p63, alpha for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p63, alpha, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
