P4HA1, CT (P4HA1, P4HA, Prolyl 4-hydroxylase subunit alpha-1, Procollagen-proline,2-oxoglutarate-4-dioxygenase subunit alpha-1) (AP)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a component of prolyl 4-hydroxylase, a key enzyme in collagen synthesis composed of two identical alpha subunits and two beta subunits. The encoded protein is one of several different types of alpha subunits and provides the major part of the catalytic site of the active enzyme. In collagen and related proteins, prolyl 4-hydroxylase catalyzes the formation of 4-hydroxyproline that is essential to the proper three-dimensional folding of newly synthesized procollagen chains. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
P4HA1: Catalyzes the post-translational formation of 4- hydroxyproline in -Xaa-Pro-Gly- sequences in collagens and other proteins. Belongs to the P4HA family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The P4HA1 p4ha1 (Catalog #AAA6330296) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The P4HA1, CT (P4HA1, P4HA, Prolyl 4-hydroxylase subunit alpha-1, Procollagen-proline,2-oxoglutarate-4-dioxygenase subunit alpha-1) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's P4HA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the P4HA1 p4ha1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "P4HA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
