NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a zinc finger domain-containing protein that functions as a regulator of transcription. The encoded proteins binds to its own promoter as well as to that of several target genes. Activity of this protein is important in the regulation of embryonic development. Mutations in this gene have been found in individuals with autosomal dominant mental retardation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
Uniprot Description
DEAF1: a transcription factor that binds to its own promoter and that of the HNRPA2B1 gene. Down-regulates transcription of these genes. Binds to the retinoic acid response element (RARE). Activates the proenkephalin gene independently of promoter binding, probably through protein-protein interaction. When secreted, behaves as an inhibitor of cell proliferation, by arresting cells in the G0 or G1 phase.

Product Notes
The NUDR deaf1 (Catalog #AAA248919) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal (IgG) to Human NUDR / DEAF1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NUDR / DEAF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (7.5 ug/ml), WB (1:500 - 1:3000) Usage: Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: Western blot: 1:500-1:3000. IHC-Paraffin: 7.5 ug/ml. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NUDR deaf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NUDR / DEAF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
