NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes glucocorticoid receptor, which can function both as a transcription factor that binds to glucocorticoid response elements in the promoters of glucocorticoid responsive genes to activate their transcription, and as a regulator of other transcription factors. This receptor is typically found in the cytoplasm, but upon ligand binding, is transported into the nucleus. It is involved in inflammatory responses, cellular proliferation, and differentiation in target tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with generalized glucocorticoid resistance. Alternative splicing of this gene results in transcript variants encoding either the same or different isoforms. Additional isoforms resulting from the use of alternate in-frame translation initiation sites have also been described, and shown to be functional, displaying diverse cytoplasm-to-nucleus trafficking patterns and distinct transcriptional activities (PMID:15866175). Uniprot Description
GR: transcription factor of the nuclear receptor family. Receptor for glucocorticoids (GC). Binds to glucocorticoid response elements (GRE) and modulates other transcription factors. Affects inflammatory responses, cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The NR3C1 nr3c1 (Catalog #AAA6429679) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NR3C1 (Glucocorticoid Receptor, GCCR, Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 3, Group C, Member 1, GCR, GR, GRL) (HRP) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NR3C1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IF: 1:20-1:100 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NR3C1 nr3c1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NR3C1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
