Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Paraffin-embedded normal rat hippocampus tissue was prepared using heat-induced epitope retrieval in citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Immunostaining was performed using a 1:50 dilution of MBS629605. Reactivity was detected using the IHC-Select® Detection Kit. Staining pattern appears to be restricted to the cytoplasm. Fig. 1 Low mag. and Fig. 2 High mag.)

Related Product Information for anti-NR1 antibody
NR1 (NMDA1or NMDAR1, also known as GRIN1) along with the NR2 subunit forms a heterodimer that make up the NMDA receptor. The NMDA receptor (NMDAR) is characterized as a ionotropic receptor for glutamate. As the name suggests, (NMDA (N-methyl D-aspartate) is an agonist for the receptor. A distinct characteristic of the NMDA receptor is that it is both ligand-gated and voltage-dependent based on its sensitivity to magnesium. Activated NMDA receptors result in the opening of an ion channel that is nonselective to cations. The result is the flow of Na+ and small amounts of Ca2+ ions into the cell and K+ out of the cell. Calcium flux by the NMDARs has been implicated in synaptic plasticity, a mechanism in the cell for learning and memory.

Product Notes

The NR1 (Catalog #AAA629605) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NR1, phosphorylated (Ser897) (N-methyl-D-aspartate Receptor subunit NR1, GRIN1, NMDA1, NMDAR1, NMD-R1, Glutamate receptor ionotropic N-methyl D-aspartate 1) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml detected NR1 in 10ug of rat brain microsomal tissue lysate. Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 detected NR1 in normal rat hippocampus. Immunoprecipitation: 10ug from a previous lot precipitated NR1 from rat brain microsomal RIPA lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NR1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
