Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of NOM1 staining in human brain formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

Proteins that contain MIF4G (middle of eIF4G (MIM 600495)) and/or MA3 domains, such as NOM1, function in protein translation. These domains include binding sites for members of the EIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD box RNA helicases (see EIF4A1; MIM 602641) (Simmons et al., 2005 [PubMed 15715967]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

NOM1: a nucleolar protein that binds eIF4A and encoded within the chromosome 7q36 breakpoint region associated with pediatric acute myeloid leukemia. Contains an MIF4G and an MA3 domain. MIF4G and MA3 domains bind proteins of the eIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD-box RNA helicases required for both translation and nonsense-mediated decay. MIF4G domains are found in several proteins involved in RNA metabolism, including eIF4G, eIF-2b, UPF2, and nuclear cap-binding proteins.

Protein type: Nucleolus; Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q36.3

Product Notes

The NOM1 nom1 (Catalog #AAA8215871) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NOM1 Antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NOM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IHC (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NOM1 nom1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NOM1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
