Related Product Information for anti-NEUROG3 antibody
Neurogenins are a family of bHLH transcription factors involved in specifying neuronal differentiation. They are related to Drosophila atonal. The neurogenins (ngns) make up one of these atonal-related gene families. In neural crest cells, the atonal-related neurogenin family is particularly important for the sensory lineage (neurogenins are essential for the formation of dorsal root ganglia), while the achaete-scute homolog ash1 (Mash1) is important for aspects of autonomic neurogenesis (Mash1 is essential for noradrenergic differentiation). Neurogenin 3 also promotes pancreatic development.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor involved in neurogenesis. The encoded protein likely acts as a heterodimer with another bHLH protein. Defects in this gene are a cause of congenital malabsorptive diarrhea 4 (DIAR4).

Uniprot Description

neurogenin 3: Acts as a transcriptional regulator. Together with NKX2- 2, initiates transcriptional activation of NEUROD1. Involved in neurogenesis. Also required for the specification of a common precursor of the 4 pancreatic endocrine cell types. Defects in NEUROG3 are the cause of diarrhea type 4 (DIAR4). DIAR4 is a characterized by severe, life- threatening watery diarrhea associated with generalized malabsorption and a paucity of enteroendocrine cells.

Product Notes

The NEUROG3 neurog3 (Catalog #AAA632276) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neurogenin 3 (Ngn3, Neurogenin Family Helix-loop-helix Transcription Factor) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neurogenin 3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 detected Neurogenin 3 on 10ug of mNgn3 transfected rabbit reticulocyte lysates. Immunohistochemistry: 1:500 detected Neurogenin 3 in mouse embryo E12.5+ tissue. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NEUROG3 neurog3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurogenin 3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
