NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the NGF-beta family and encodes a secreted protein which homodimerizes and is incorporated into a larger complex. This protein has nerve growth stimulating activity and the complex is involved in the regulation of growth and the differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type 5 (HSAN5), and dysregulation of this gene's expression is associated with allergic rhinitis. Uniprot Description
NGF: Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades through those receptor tyrosine kinase to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. Homodimer. Belongs to the NGF-beta family.

Product Notes
The NGF ngf (Catalog #AAA618300) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Nerve Growth Factor, beta (NGF, Beta Nerve Growth Factor, Beta Nerve Growth Factor Precursor, Beta NGF, HSAN5, Nerve Growth Factor beta, Nerve Growth Factor beta Polypeptide, Nerve Growth Factor beta Subunit, NGFB) reacts with Avian, Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nerve Growth Factor, beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NGF ngf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nerve Growth Factor, beta, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
