NCBI Description

NAT5 is a component of N-acetyltransferase complex B (NatB). Human NatB performs cotranslational N(alpha)-terminal acetylation of methionine residues when they are followed by asparagine (Starheim et al., 2008 [PubMed 18570629]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009]

Uniprot Description

NAA20: Catalytic subunit of the NatB complex which catalyzes acetylation of the N-terminal methionine residues of peptides beginning with Met-Asp, Met-Glu, Met-Asn and Met-Gln. Proteins with cell cycle functions are overrepresented in the pool of NatB substrates. Required for maintaining the structure and function of actomyosin fibers and for proper cellular migration. Belongs to the acetyltransferase family. ARD1 subfamily.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - phenylalanine; Acetyltransferase; Lipid Metabolism - glycerophospholipid; EC 2.3.1.88; Secondary Metabolites Metabolism - limonene and pinene degradation; Amino Acid Metabolism - tyrosine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20p11.23

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; intracellular; nucleus

Molecular Function: peptide alpha-N-acetyltransferase activity

Biological Process: N-terminal peptidyl-methionine acetylation

Product Notes

The NAT5 naa20 (Catalog #AAA6323945) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NAT5, CT (NAA20, NAT5, N-alpha-acetyltransferase 20, N-acetyltransferase 5, N-terminal acetyltransferase B complex catalytic subunit NAA20, N-terminal acetyltransferase B complex catalytic subunit NAT5, NatB catalytic subunit) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NAT5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NAT5 naa20 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NAT5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
